Speaking to these farmers was an extremely enriching experience for us. Wherever we taught them about something, we also learned something new. These farmers have a myriad of problems in their everyday lives, yet they are without any help because no-one is there to provide it to them. Even if they do try to help due to past experiences they have trouble trusting these people. Hence, we decided to personally speak to the farmers, starting by asking about the troubles they faced in their everyday lives, such as walking up to 20 kilometers to get a month's supply of seeds and fertilizers. They were extremely honest with us and heard our proposal all the way through. They agreed to set up a shop in their village where a member of the village itself would sit and see through the needs of those who required a certain product. The member conducting the online transactions would charge a small commision which the farmer would have spent on transportation instead, thus saving them time. The farmers were extremely pleased with the results of the new silica fertilizer offered to them and have been exceedingly happy with the decision they have made by switching fertilizers and choosing to connect with the online world.
